Two friends. Four decades.
One handshake at a Burger King.
Jeff Hudson and Troy Lephart have been building sound together since the early 1980s. Pinnacle Systems is what four decades of craftsmanship looks like when it becomes a family business.
1980s
Top in Sound — Anderson, IN
Jeff and Troy start their careers together, integrating 70–80 churches a year plus school gyms and auditoriums across the United States.
1990s
The Big Leagues
Both move to Chicago to work for Ancha Electronics (now AVI-SPL), then return to Indiana — Jeff builds AV for the Pacers' Conseco Fieldhouse while Troy handles Indiana University Auditorium.
2001
A Dream Over Fast Food
Over a meal at a Burger King in Zionsville, Indiana, two lifelong colleagues sketch out a company of their own. Pinnacle Systems is born.
2013
Full Circle
Pinnacle purchases the original Top in Sound building — the very place where it all started.
